Tech Leader Insights with Techstars

SOFTWAREcolorado is the exclusive membership organization that offers busy software executives and leaders a space to network, expand knowledge and develop their careers. Sponsors of SOFTWAREcolorado have played an integral role in the growth, partnership and celebration of the incredible innovation happening among the Colorado tech community.

Each sponsor is passionately involved in advancing the Colorado tech community and creating a space for Software/SaaS leaders to connect and solve their biggest challenges. To honor our sponsors who help make SOFTWAREcolorado an asset to the community, this blog series introduces and celebrates these organizations.

This week, we are proud to feature SOFTWAREcolorado sponsor: Techstars

Techstars is the worldwide network that helps entrepreneurs succeed. Founded in 2006, Techstars began with three simple ideas—entrepreneurs create the future, collaboration drives innovation, and great ideas can come from anywhere. Today its mission is to make innovation accessible to everyone, everywhere. Techstars do this by connecting startups, investors, corporations, and cities to create a more sustainable and inclusive world. Since 2006, Techstars has invested in more than 2,700 companies and today has a market cap of $52 billion.

You can connect with Techstars directly on Twitter or LinkedIn.

Below, we asked Scott Ford, COO of Techstars, what the company gets out of sponsorship, as well as insights on the Colorado software industry. Here’s what he shared:

1. How has Techstars benefited from SOFTWAREcolorado sponsorship?

As a global organization, Techstars values sponsoring local organizations, like SOFTWAREcolorado, in each of our operating markets to support our accelerator programs. In the Denver/Boulder market, we operate four accelerator programs that are constantly on the lookout for the next great companies to invest in. Working with SOFTWAREcolorado provides us exposure to these types of companies.

2. What are some exciting things you see happening within the Colorado tech industry?

The most obvious trend we're seeing across nearly every industry and geography is the adaptation to remote work and the rise of companies building tools to support productivity as well as resources to support the impact remote work has on the human condition. We are seeing an influx of applications to our accelerator programs from companies building these types of solutions, and are witnessing our investor network heavily participate in investing in these startups too.
